Heart X Outfitters is a family owned and operated business with the main Guide and operator being Gus Thoreson. Gus has the assistance of his wife, Courtney and their four kids Keaton, Taysha, Tinsley and Seeley. There will also be the the additional guides and a full time cook. All employees are held to a high standard and would not be hired by Heart X Outfitters if they were unable to fulfill our expectations. Gus has been in the outfitting industry since 2011. He began like most outfitters, a young guide who was eager to learn. Since then he has put countless hours and miles in his experience log, in all weather conditions to be able to have an advanced skill set for Outfitting. However, he grew up in the rodeo and horsemanship world. Courtney is a 5th generation lemhi county resident. Not only does she know the local landmarks, she is also a licensed idaho real estate agent. we pride ourselves on our stock and horsemanship. Heart X was established in 2019. a common question we get: where did the heart x come from? It is originally our family brand for stock. Passed down to us from Gus’s dad, and not only do we brand our animals with it- we established our growing business as such. We provide our guests with a quality and safe experience. Outdoors is our passion, but hunting is our obsession. We also train and raise high quality mules, horses and hounds for purchase. As We have grown, we have introduced many options we can offer to clients. We have made our outfitting business with something to offer everyone. All our hunts are done on horse back and in the Wilderness of the Frank Church.
We are located in the Middle Fork of the Salmon River. We have 2 areas- drive in and then fly in. all camps are in the wilderness
